General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, held talks with Tunisian Minister of National Defense Khaled Sehili during the latter’s official visit to Egypt.
An official reception ceremony took place at Egypt’s Ministry of Defense headquarters, where military honors were rendered and the national anthems of both countries were played. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral military cooperation and addressing regional and international security developments of mutual concern.
Both ministers co-chaired the closing session of the 18th Egyptian-Tunisian Military Cooperation Committee, reviewing mechanisms to expand joint collaboration and increase the exchange of expertise across various military sectors. The meeting underscored the longstanding strategic ties between Cairo and Tunis, particularly in defense and security cooperation.
General Saqr reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening military coordination with Tunisia, highlighting the historic relations between the two nations. Minister Sehili likewise emphasized the strength of bilateral ties and expressed hope for broader joint initiatives in the coming period.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Egypt’s Chief of Staff, and senior military officials from both sides also attended the session.
