Military and security personnel from fifteen partner nations gathered in Kenya for the fifth edition of Justified Accord 2026, a two-week multinational exercise aimed at strengthening regional security and operational collaboration. Hosted at the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) in Embakasi and Karen, with field exercises conducted in Isiolo, the programme provided a comprehensive platform for enhancing readiness, interoperability, and tactical proficiency.

Jointly organised by the Kenya Defence Forces and United States Africa Command, the exercise focused on preparing forces to respond to complex and evolving security challenges. Through a combination of academic planning sessions, simulated operational environments, and coordinated field activities, participants improved communication, cohesion, and joint operational effectiveness.

Field training in Isiolo emphasised critical skills such as demolition procedures and the safe handling of unexploded ordnance, while also integrating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into operational planning processes.

Beyond military objectives, the exercise underscored the importance of civil–military cooperation. Humanitarian initiatives, including medical outreach and veterinary services, strengthened engagement with local communities.

Justified Accord 2026 concluded with a formal ceremony recognising the commitment of participating forces and reaffirming a shared dedication to regional stability, partnership, and collective security.
