STM, a leading Turkish defence technology company, continues to strengthen its role within NATO by advancing the Integration Core (INT-CORE) system, a critical platform supporting battlefield situational awareness and decision-making processes across the Alliance.
Under a contract signed in 2024 with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency), STM is delivering a comprehensive modernisation of INT-CORE, enhancing interoperability among NATO’s diverse information systems and improving the speed and accuracy of data exchange across operational environments.
At the centre of this upgrade is the introduction of the “Lake Diver” capability—an advanced data-processing component designed to manage and interpret vast volumes of information within NATO’s “data lake.” By linking, filtering and modelling data from multiple battlefield systems, Lake Diver enables commanders to visualise critical intelligence through map-based interfaces, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
INT-CORE plays a pivotal role in standardising data inputs from various sources, allowing NATO forces to maintain a unified operational picture. The system supports command and control (C2) functions by facilitating the dissemination of mission-critical information across joint and multinational operations.
Commenting on the programme, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz highlighted the company’s long-standing cooperation with NATO, noting that STM’s previous five-year involvement in INT-CORE development and maintenance has provided a strong foundation for the current upgrade phase. He emphasised that the new enhancements will further strengthen NATO’s digital infrastructure and will be actively utilised in CWIX, NATO’s flagship interoperability exercise.
STM’s contribution to NATO extends beyond INT-CORE. The company has also played a key role in projects such as AirC2IS, NATO’s strategic-level air command and control system, and continues to develop intelligence software under the INTEL-FS2 programme. Additionally, STM has supported NATO’s strategic planning through advanced decision-support models designed to assess complex global risks, including cyber threats and large-scale disruptions.
With over 25 years of experience in defence engineering, STM remains a key partner in delivering cutting-edge technologies across domains ranging from naval systems and UAVs to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and big data analytics—reinforcing NATO’s operational effectiveness in an increasingly complex security environment.
