Between 1 and 7 April 2026, units of the People’s National Army (PNA) conducted a series of coordinated operations across the national territory as part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorism, organized crime, and illegal migration. These activities resulted in multiple arrests and significant seizures, highlighting the sustained operational tempo and readiness of the armed forces.
In counterterrorism operations, six individuals accused of supporting terrorist groups were apprehended. Efforts targeting organized crime and drug trafficking led to the arrest of 36 traffickers and the interception of 432 kilograms of treated kif along the Moroccan border, alongside the seizure of 42.36 kilograms of cocaine and over one million psychotropic tablets.
Operations in southern regions, including Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and Illizi, focused on illegal gold mining and smuggling activities. Authorities arrested 440 individuals and confiscated equipment such as vehicles, generators, and jackhammers, as well as fuel, tobacco, and foodstuffs intended for illicit trade. Additional seizures included firearms and ammunition.
In the maritime domain, Coast Guard units foiled illegal migration attempts, rescuing 121 individuals at sea, while 749 undocumented migrants of various nationalities were detained inland.
