The Egyptian and Chinese Armed Forces have launched the joint air exercise “Eagles of Civilization 2026,” bringing together a range of multi-role fighter aircraft for several days of intensive training at Egyptian Air Force bases across the country. The exercise represents another step in the development of military cooperation between Egypt and China, with participating aircrews and support personnel conducting activities designed to strengthen interoperability, exchange operational experience and enhance their ability to plan and execute complex joint air operations.

The opening phases of the exercise include a combination of theoretical instruction and practical training intended to harmonize combat concepts, operational procedures and coordination between the Egyptian and Chinese forces. These activities provide participating personnel with an opportunity to become familiar with each side’s operational methods before progressing to more demanding joint flying missions.

A central element of “Eagles of Civilization 2026” is the execution of joint air sorties involving different types of multi-role combat aircraft. Participating forces are also receiving training in the planning, command and management of joint air combat operations, providing an environment in which Egyptian and Chinese personnel can exchange expertise while developing their operational capabilities and professional skills.

The exercise forms part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ wider joint training program with the armed forces of friendly and partner countries. Egypt regularly conducts bilateral and multinational exercises as part of its efforts to strengthen military cooperation, improve operational readiness and provide its forces with experience operating alongside international partners.

The latest Egyptian-Chinese exercise also reflects the continuing development of defence relations between Cairo and Beijing, particularly in the field of military training and exchanges. Through exercises such as “Eagles of Civilization 2026,” the two countries are expanding opportunities for their armed forces to share operational experience, strengthen coordination and develop greater familiarity between their respective air forces.

According to the Egyptian Armed Forces, the exercise demonstrates Egypt’s commitment to strengthening military cooperation with friendly countries while continuing to develop bilateral relations across a range of fields. The training activities are expected to continue over several days, with further joint missions aimed at improving the readiness and operational effectiveness of the participating Egyptian and Chinese forces.
